Mom’s macaroni

Ingredients
500g of ground meat
1/4 cup olive oil
1 finely chopped large yellow onion
3 finely chopped garlic cloves
680 ml can of tomato sauce
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp Mom’s macaroni seasoning
225g of fusilli
125g of Philadelphia cream cheese
Preparation
Macaroni
- In a frying pan, brown 500g of lean ground meat without breaking it up too much. Drain well and set aside.
- Pour 1/4 cup olive oil into a saucepan. Add 1 finely chopped large yellow onion, 3 finely chopped garlic cloves and sauté until translucent.
- Add meat, a 680 ml can of tomato sauce (I like Hunts sauce), 2 tbsp sugar and 2 tbsp seasoning.
- Simmer gently for 30 minutes or until the sauce thickens, stirring and scraping the bottom of the pan regularly. Meanwhile, cook 225g of fusilli al dente.
- Turn off the burner, add 125g of Philadelphia cream cheese and stir to melt. Add the pasta, cover and let stand for 5 minutes.
